Bikini Challenges and Random

Ahhh, so sorry to have disappeared again. But the craziness that I have in my life has finally settled down. My schedule isn't jumping all over the place any more, which makes it totally easy for me to come back at this lifestyle both arms swinging

So Tatum and I's 60 day Bikini Challenge ended great for her, for real I'm so incredibly proud of her. Go check her out on Instagram @fittatum (you won't be sorry). My results kinda tapered off in the middle of May. Between moving, garage sale, work trips, life got in the way. I know that sounds like a sorry excuse and it is, but thats what happened. My schedule was changing each day and my hours were getting longer. I was working over 10 hours a day and usually 6-7 days straight and then I had a half  a day off. All this while trying to get settled into a new home and a new schedule. But thats a thing of the past now. Our new normal involves getting up at 7am and in bed by midnight. Tatum and I want to keep going, so we started our Bikini challenge again Monday. Today is day two. Tatum still has 4 weeks left with her amazing trainer and thats what shes doing for those weeks. I have 8 weeks worth of meal plans and workouts from Michelle but before I get back on that, I'm going to take a week of using my macros to make my meal plans myself. I'm also getting back into running. I had got so sick of it when I started training for a half that it had turned me off of it. But I missed it so I'm easing back into it and running in the mornings just for as long as I want to and after lunch I hit the gym before work. With our schedule being active has become even easier, hub and I have been eating outside more, doing more gardening, walks and all that good stuff. But I also have time to read again. I love reading, I just finished the last book in the Lying Game series by Sara Shepard. She also wrote the Pretty Little Liars series. I read those too, but the show ruined it for me. They aren't even close to the books so that was a major disappointment for my inner bookworm nerd. But without any further ado, my final pictures of the challenge and they are also my beginning of  the next go around.

Overall I'm still proud. I still see quite a bit of toning going on. Even more this time, I promise you :P But I also was able to gain something new from these last 60 days. Body acceptance and self confidence. I've never worn tank tops in the summer I usually hid behind sweatshirts, but this summer I've worn more tank tops than ever. I never even owned this many before! I'm comfortable with my body because I'm proud of how far I've come. I know I worked for it and its the product of hard work. I know that even if I never lose another pound, I still can't go back to my shitty eating and couch potato ways. I will have to maintain this new earned achievement and always strive to improve my health and fitness.

I felt slower than a one legged turtle running through molasses and into a cement pit, but I was pretty pleased with my time this morning.

Sunday Funday for us involved the zoo and a picnic afterwards.

We loved this turtle, he took two steps then let out a sigh and slammed his head into the ground and then began eating. We also really like this giraffe, not as much as he like the fence pole though. He was cuddling it and licking it- alot.

For some reason I also thought it would be a good idea to straighten my hair. Humidity reminded me why the summer and my hair are not friends. It was a curly frizzy mess by the end of the day.

Then we went to the mall to walk and gawk some more and well I leave him alone for two seconds and he finds this hat...

How was your Memorial Day Weekend?
What are some good books?
Tips on getting back into running?

  2. I'm currently reading The Fault in Our Stars & I'm loving it! It's an amazing read. If you haven't read it, you totally should check it out.

By the way, I also hate when TV series based on a book series is nothing like the books. Prime example: the Sookie Stackhouse series & True Blood. It's horrible how off it is. I have now forced myself to separate the two so I can enjoy the show.

  3. Running tip: consistency, consistency, consistency. I ran my first half and it is all about running consistently. You dont have to run 5 or 10 miles every time, but the more consistent you are the more you like it and won't have to face "starting over" :)

  4. Doing Fartleks! Basically run as fast and hard as you can until you think you will die then walk until you can breathe again. I'm trying to improve my endurance, I feel like I've hit a wall. Also be consistent!
